Healthier homes, one thoughtful choice at a time.
Lorikeet Living began with a simple question:
What are the everyday products in our homes actually made from?
The answer is not always as straightforward as it seems. A product may look beautiful and practical, but what materials sit beneath the surface? Has it been painted, treated or coated? What touches our food, drinks and skin? And has enough information been provided for us to feel comfortable bringing it into our homes?
At Lorikeet Living, we believe materials matter. We look beyond appearances and carefully consider how a product is made, what it is designed to come into contact with and how it will be used in everyday life.
For kitchen and dining products, this means paying particular attention to food- and drink-contact surfaces. For textiles and other household pieces, it may mean considering the fibres, fabrics, dyes, finishes, fillings or treatments used. Wherever possible, we favour simpler, well-considered materials and products that feel comfortable, practical and suited to family life.
Our aim is not perfection, nor is it to suggest that every synthetic material, finish or coating is harmful. It is about asking better questions, seeking clearer information and choosing suitable alternatives when they are available.
Why does it matter?
The items we use every day become part of the environment we create at home—from the kitchenware we prepare meals with to the blankets we curl up under and the fabrics we gather around as a family.
Research and understanding around materials and everyday exposure continue to evolve. Rather than making claims that have not been established, Lorikeet Living takes a practical, precautionary approach. We consider the materials, coatings and treatments used in a product and share the information available to us, helping you make choices that feel right for your household.
Small changes, made easier.
Creating a healthier home does not mean throwing everything away and beginning again. It can simply mean making a more considered choice the next time something needs replacing—one cup, kitchen utensil, tablecloth, blanket or household essential at a time.
Lorikeet Living is a new store, and our collection will continue to evolve as we grow and discover new products for different areas of the home. What will remain unchanged is the care behind our selections and our belief that everyday materials deserve careful consideration.
Small changes today can make a healthier home tomorrow.
